cage size

i was looking at a cage on ebay its
60cm deep x 94cm long x 142cm high
bar spacing 12cm

would this be large enough for 3 chipmunks if not what size should i look for i am pushed for space as only in a 1 bedroom flat

also would i have to remove the metal platforms and replace them with wood
also will any branches of any tree do or do they have to be certain type

     hi lee the cage sounds fine for 3 chippies mine has metal platforms so no it's entirley up to you if you want to remove them as for branches chose fruit tree ones

I personally wouldn't keep 3 in a cage that size.  I've got cages that size for individuals.  The less room they have, the more likely they are to fight if you're not careful.

Can you make an indoor aviary that's a bit larger if you want 3 ?

Hi Lee,

Yes chipminks live best in pairs. If you plan to keep 3 then you will need to individual nesting boxes for each. The worse bit is if they start using one of the nesting boxes as a loo like mine did, then you will have one chip without a nest and fighting with others.
