He's about the same size as my Pickles. Some chipmunks do bulk up like this, yet others remain sleek all their lives. Pickels has been around for a good long time now, and shows no signs of ill health, although he's slowing down now he's an old man. ;D

Thanks tarcus, I have noticed that your dilutes have much shorter claws than my indoors chips. I don't think my chips claws are overly long, but I think I need to go and get even more branches their claws down more. Luckily a friend wants his apple tree pruned, and the tree is laden with apples, so this will a win for the tree owner, and a win for my chippies.  :hello2:

I have noticed by pics on here that the larger the space the bigger the chips seem to be :toothy4:
A bit like fish I think as my koi are looking healthy and much bigger since I extended the pond
(no its not an olympic size yet) :sign10:
I also believe that outdoor chips pile on the fat during the summer because they know what the winter is going to be like :sad10: bloody freezing if mine are anything to go by :-\
Still at least they will be warm.
Nate have you tried using some parrot perches for your chips claws ??? if you stand them upright in a ton filled with sand or soil they try and balance on them but have to use there claws to grip and climb :hello:
