OMG! 3 deaths

i am in shock, just went in to give my babies some orange and found angel, posie n pootle dead
i am mortified they were ok yesterday as i filled all there water bottles up, all the others seem fine
i just dont know what happened

oh no thats terrible.....   could they have eaten something they shouldn't?

no i dont think so, but i'm wondering whether it has somethin 2 do with the water bottles not working properly now, as they were not the normal ball bearing type, and they perhaps could not get a drink, so just in case i'v just changed them back to the origional ones,
i'm just so gutted

I wouldn't have thought the lack of water would cause such a sudden death and to all 3 in the same night, they'd have shown signs of dehydration

well i thought that too but it was the only thing i could think of
and theyve all had access to the same food and if it was something in the actual room, then angel has not been out recently so with it being so instant i kind of ruled that out
i'm just stumped as to why

So sorry to hear pinkpill, its so tragic. Could your vet not do a post mortum and check the cause of death? Make sure its nothing that can harm any other chips?

unfortunately i'v already disposed of them
but the others all seem ok and i'm gonna blitz the cages shortly just incase of infection

posie and pootle were 2gether but angel was in another cage with gabriel who is fine

Thats a weird one then. It doesn't seem they've eaten or got a hold of anything they shouldnt and theres no signs of anything else , i hope you find out what caused it and your other chips are fine

Does sound like some kind of poisoning, either food, water or gas.

I was thinking maybe gas, it wouldn't take much carbonmonoxide to kill them, a small enough amount to not cause us any problems, do you have a gas fire in the same room and has it been checked lately?
