What website to buy chip food online?
« on: December 18, 2011, 12:42:44 PM »
I normally go to a local pet shep for my chips food (Beaphar Xtra Vital) And they normally charge around just under £5 a bag, and i was looking online and saw you could get it cheaper, can anyone point me to a good reliable website to buy the same food on (as my chips love this food) :hello:

I bought beaphar vital at the ferret shop on ebay but i wasnt impressed with beahpar vital, but not sure if thats the cheapest source. I was able to buy a few other things from the ferret shop too to get combined shipping

I stick to johnson and jeff chipmunk and squirrel mix now, its so much value for money and lasts for a long time. you should give it a try  :icon_thumleft:

They also do the beaphar @£3.75p but not sure on postage and packing.

I'd go slong with J&J's squirrel feed.  Loads of good stuff in there and at a good price. My chips love it.

Sounds good, might give the johnstone and jeff food a go then. I was aware the beaphar was cheaper online but just wanted a trusted website, so i think i'll go with the one you get yours from tarcus. I mix in my own stuff aswell, thank you for all the help everyone ;D

Hello :hello:

Tarcus, i went onto the website to order food for the chips and they are trying to charge me £19.99 for postage :o
So i will not be going with them haha, could anyone reccomend another site to get Johnston and Jeff Chipmunks food?

Thanks, Peter!

Hi Peter

On the 6th Dec I tried http://www.valupets.com/ for the first time, who delivered a 12.5kg a few days later for £7.00 delivery charge, the total order came to £19.95

So I was pleased with the delivery time, and it is a large bag so I also thought the delivery charge was reasonable.

And my chippies have really taken to the Johnston and Jeff more than any other chipmunk food I have tried.

I think I saw on here another sugestion for a website, but when I looked there was no real conact telephone number if I remeber correctly, so I went with Valupets.

Hi peter, thats weird. Thats the site i ordered mine from. I ordered my J and J before summer and theres still plenty left, and the squirrels get to eat it aswell plus any leftovers from my chipmunk, so nothinggets wasted really  :icon_thumleft: They charge £4.99 for mainland delivery, i just checked now. Would you try again?

Hi Nate, i saw that site before but i forgot about it, It sounds a good price, as just now im paying £4.50 a bag for the Beaphar Xtra Vital chippie food from the pet shop and they dont last very long so will probably get them off that site, Thanks ;D

Hi ilovechips, I tried it twice and both times it told me £19.99 both times. I thought i was weird as Edinburgh is mainland. I wanted to order 2 bags and they were charging for them and delivery about £40. I'll try again see what comes up this time, Thanks ;D

Edit: Tried the site again but for just 1 bag this time, still saying £19.99 for delivery and saying my address is 'Within rural area :dontknow:
