Allowing Jenny B or any of the more senior forum members chippie sit is a fabulous good idea, don't get me wrong. You just don't want to hand them over to an inexperienced person unless they are coming to your home just to feed and water them a few times a week.

If I need a chippie sitter, I have a wonderful vet technician who will come over for a fee to take care of them.  She is wonderful and has been a vet technician for many years, I do trust her due to her experience with exotics.

Mrchips thats a cool idea I didn't know that Vets offered that service.

I haven't asked my parents yet but If you are really ok for me to look after them, I will ask, hopefully they will say yes. That will be good them being in their own cages that will make things easier for me and better for them. I was wondering I meant to ask you before I'd be interested in getting a Cinnamon with you from abroad next year. I love my Cinnies, Dilutes and Agoutis but the problem is I have a lot of closely related animals so my choices of breeding are limited If I want to avoid inbreeding. I would like to get one unrelated Cinnamon male to breed with the girls as I have mainly females (3 Dilute,3 Agouti (two Cinn Carriers & 1 Dilute Carrier) & 3 Cinnamon), that would increase my gene pool alot. Would this be ok with you? From past research I know of some breeders if you haven't found any. I'll pay you for him and the shipping If you go that route and you can always breed any females you get with Nugget if you like. I think It will be a fantastic opportunity.

Sorry I've not responded.... missed the post I'm afraid.  Can't promise your vet has a VN that does the pet sitting but must be worth asking.

Moving to Wales soon so everything re Cinnamons etc is a bit on the backburner at present.  When I'm ensconsed in my new place with my birds and chips sorted I'll think again about adding some cinnamons.

Thx Marci! ;D ;D
I understand what you are saying!
However i don't really trust anyone without experience with my beloved babies!
Jennyb is very kindly taking my  chipmunks to her house while i am away.I am so grateful to her and i trust her 100%.
I am really closely bonded to my chipmunks.i think it is the best solution for them.
I know that they will be out of their environment but they will still be in their own cages and not alone.
If i could take them with me i would, but i guess South Africa is a bit far for my little creatures...

I am so happy about Jennyb having them because i was really reluctant placing them in a boarding...that would have really broke my heart.i love my chips too much!

Kimiko, Mayumi and Yuki will be well looked after. If you will have access to the internet while you are in Africa I can post some photos on here or email them to you so you can see how they are doing. I was concerned about the boarding too, when you said they keep the small Rodents in the same room as Dogs and Cats that can't be good for the Rodents, also that the woman didn't know about Chipmunks. I wouldn't put my Chippies in a boarding. I'm sure there are good ones out there and ones that are just for small Rodents but I would still be nervous about my Chippies going into to somewhere like that. I'd be nervous about my Cats going into a boarding. You never know how they might be treated, how upsetting it may be to have other animals (especially ones they aren't used to) caged close by, how noisy it may be and how much attention they will get, those places must be busy. And just how stressed they may be being in a place like that.

Thats ok Mrchips I don't need anyone to take care of my Chippies at the moment but I'll keep in mind about the Vet Nurse for when I might need them looked after.  The bit about the Cinnamons was posted to Alex-gr sorry for the confusion.

Good luck with the move to Wales, I didn't know you was thinking of getting a Cinnamon, hope it all works out.
