Thanks Marci

adamclark18, Thats what Asriel did when Hermione kept bullying him just kept running in his wheel, it was the only time she wouldn't chase him around or attack him i removed him because it wasn't fair he could hardly eat without her snatching it off him.

I've now had to separate another two and still there is problems. They are mostly chasing each other but it seems more aggressive and i'm worried if one catches another it will turn into a nasty incident

I do agree with Nick this is a winter issue, mine have done the same every autumn/winter since 2009 when they first started living outdoors and during the spring and summer i hardly had any problems.

Adam, tried to watch your video its not working for me

adam, if ur chipmunks are fighting where one is chasing the other and has bitten its ear, its best to seperate them, because one day it might turn more nastier than you thought. in my past experience. i learnt to seperate before it got incredibly nasty

Looks like he got a small bite on his foot this morning so that's 2 bites in the space of a fortnight so gonna have to heavily consider seeing if someone local will take him on. Even tho they are indoors he is constantly hording his food inside and outside his cage. Unfortunately I'm away at the min so they are on their own till Friday (my mate is popping in to feed him)

I'm sorry to hear he has been bitten on his foot. Dobby was badly bitten on his front paw and now he has lost some of the claws on that foot and the tips of some of the toes. Depending on how bad the bite that happened to your boy he might lose some of his toes. Scabbers also lost half of one of his toes on a front paw and Bailey lost a full toe on a back foot, both resulted from a bite to their foot but hopefully that won't happen with your Chippie.

If your friend could keep an eye on the boys toe for sign of infection thats all you can do for now while away

Its now been over a month since the major incident and thankfully theres been no more bad injuries (touch wood)
Dobby's foot has healed quite well, I think as well as it is going to. It looked its worse about a week after the attack, it swelled up and was very red and the toes before falling off went black. He has adapted well to the loss of toes he is very active and climbs well he isn't so agile with climbing upside down but he is now getting used to clinging on with three feet.

The first two pics were a week after the incident. Its hard to believe that this damage was done by the other Chipmunk in just a few seconds, I really thought he was going to lose the whole foot but thankfully he hasn't. He is going to go to his new home soon and I suspect he will be exploring and climbing everywhere and being quite daring.
