Buddy is sick again

I could tell last night when I came home around 10 pm and checked on him, he was out of it.

At 11 am this morning, I gave him some baytril.  I am going to supplement it with the Nuflor.  I am glad I started the AB, reluctantly of course, because as the day progressed, he was sneezing more, his eyes were small slits, his breathing is labored, he is clicking, and is so lethargic.  For a brief period of time, he was breathing so hard, I could see his body working so hard to breathe.  He has been sleeping in the nap of my neck for most of the afternoon.

Needless to say, I am quite upset.

Buddy did not show any signs of respiratory illness yesterday and this morning.  The baytril seems to nip it in the bud.

Got some good advice from CrM regarding diet and AB course of treatment, and will try it.  I first need to summarize buddy's health and medicinal history and check with the vet and squirrellady in the US about the Babytril course of treatment.

Buddy weighed 63 grams this morning even though he is eating.  He looks really thin.  I have seen him like this before.

buddy weighed 62 grams this morning.  It is so frustrating since he has been hand fed for 2 days and he is eating. 

He is sleeping on me now and I hear him clicking.

I did not have time to call the vet today.  I am getting slammed with work, I needed to prepare for a 3 day workshop this week and was told Thursday. 

I am hoping he hangs in there until next week when I can call the vet. 

There are many experts that think it could be allergies or a bug which requires combo AB.  It has got to be one of them.

Just returned from the vet.  She got a good culture sample since he was sneezing.  I should know the results by Wednesday. 

She gave him a shot of Covenia and said I could give him .02 ml of children's benedryl. 

When the vet listened to his lungs, the word used was "harsh."

After the culture come back from the lab, she will tell me what AB will work.

I really feel for Buddy he has had such a hard time and you aswell of course. Hate respiratory infections they seem to linger so long. Tiny is ill again, he relapsed although he doesn't have sneezing or runny eyes or nose, just clicking and being very quiet. I've got him on Baytril but it don't seem to be doing anything for him. Got to go back to the vet. I'm wondering about trying Convenia. The vet checked Tiny's heart and lungs and said he isn't too bad and she doesn't think its serious but he does have the respiratory infection. I have him indoors and will probably have to keep him indoors.

I hope Buddy will be feeling better soon

How long was tiny on Baytril.  I am hoping for 2 weeks at .05ml/2X day.  If it was not that dosage, that could be the reason he relapsed.

Tiny got ill after his sisters did. I gave him the Baytril i think 0.4ml a day for 2 weeks and he appeared to get better but then just recently relapsed about 2 weeks later. Now he is to have 0.8ml a day but its hard to get the full dose in him, i'm putting it in anything i can to get him to take it. I've only been told to give him the dose once daily.
