Does anyone know why chipmunks wag their tails
because when mine is out it just stays in one spot and wags his tail for ages, is this similar to dogs wagging their tails because their happy?

I think they swish their tails in a slow S shape if they are unsure or nervous about somthing. If it's a faster swish then it could be they are being confrontational or angry.
When they are happy they make a very soft noise like a sneeze.
