So sorry to read that Camille passed away today Tarcus, I can only guess how you must feel.

You have my sympathies, and I hope your new arrivals can help take your mind off your loss.

I feel really sad for you right now.

We all question, did we do anything wrong or could we of done anything more, But  we can only do our best, and with friends and help we all try harder. But some times there is not a good ending. So to look forward now and hope the little ones will make things easier.

My last female died at new year, showing the same signs as hibernation (just like Camille) As she lived outside i never picked her up, but this day i carried her in and sat for over an hour with her lying on my chest, watching her breath slowly and cold to the touch, I put her in a small container with hay and a towel to keep her warm, but she passed away an hour later.  I thought it was because it was very cold this winter.  But after reading about Camille, may be it was just her time to go.

remember the good times.

Sarah.

So sorry to hear the bad news.
I read your initial post just after posting and even though I am new to keeping chipmunks I checked my Chipmunk book but it had nothing  of any help.
Here's to the new babies and the rest of your gang.

Hi tarcus, i'm very sorry to hear about Camille passing away, this sounds similar to when Pearl was suffering from suspected seizures before christmas, she had symptoms very like this of being cold to the touch, slow heartbeat barely there (it looked like she was hibernating), being unconcious, she had these seizures once a week or sometimes more than once a week and then it became less once she was introduced to a high calcium diet, it took her months to get better. I'm not saying Camille had the same, just that the symptoms are the same. How old was Camille? Pearl is approx 4 years.
