Hey thanks for posting your concerns, it will help other new owners. i think you have done everything right for him. He sounds a bit shy, he's had quite a big thing happen in his life, so it's taken him time to get used to the move. Try not to disturb the nest he is in, and if possible put a fresh small bowel of water near the nest opening, he may well come out at night to take a sip.
I know this must be very frustrating for you, most new owners expect to have lively chipmunks running around the aviary, most do, but occasionally you will get a shy one. He's likely not to be like this all the time, but you may have to spend more time taming him but when he's ready.

Hi Mario,

keep your chin up, he will come round soon.

You could also try leaving a small piece of plain biscuit near the nest, Mine loved having biscuits as a treat, If it dissapears when your not there then you will know he is playing hide n seek.

At this time of year they don't stay up to late, mine were in bed by 3pm ish and now it is a little lighter will stay up till 5pm ish, poss awake 7am ish.  When the summer comes it will be a lot later, but always before dark.

I've only had popcorn a week now and he is doing the same pattern as the others did, so at this time of year i only get to him at weekends.

Maybe the times vary with indoor chips, but your chip will fall into his own pattern.

Sarah.
