You guys know more than me, quick question :)
« on: April 23, 2011, 09:59:35 AM »
Okay so i've decided to get Casper a lady friend :icon_cheers: :love3:, Slight problem, i don't know how old casper is, i think his previous owner said just under a year so maybe he's just over a year now, i'm not sure.  :-\
I've looked at females for sale and they're all babies well when they're ready to go, will this be a problem?
I keep telling him he's getting one but he just wants the pomegranates instead hmmm true man eh :L joking.
Thanks for all your help x

:toothy4: unless someone is moving a female out of their stock the main available chips will be this years babies but there should be no problem if you introduce them in the correct manner.
#1 Some advocate removing the male into a separate enclosure and cleaning out the old one thoroughly with antiseptic water to remove his scent and rearrange everything. Next stage is to allow the female into the area for 24/48 hours to establish her territory. Place the male inside a small cage inside the larger one so they can smell and see each other for a further 24 hours then release him.

#2 If he is happy with you touching him another way is for you to handle the new female for to gather her scent on your hands and let him smell her on you before placing her cage inside his for 24 hours again to let them get used to each other before letting them out together.
Personally I would use method #1 hope this helps
