Hi

You are safe with fruit trees such as Apple, pear and cherry, small ones of these cost around £30. But a chipmunk will soon strip all the leaves of it, so you might want to keep it in its pot, so you can put it outside the aviary to recover. Conifers should also be OK, as these are often present in their natural habitat. Quite a few plants in the UK are toxic, fox gloves are fairly well known to be poisonous, so I've uploaded a PDF I found on the Internet which tells you what's good and what's bad, you can download it here.

Sioux,

Mine also love dandylions but I tend to feed them the dandylion itself rather than the leaves, my Rabbits eat the leaves so they have to share ha ha.

Does anyone know if plum trees are ok to put in the aviary? I know the fruits are not great but I am only putting in branches. They take all the leaves off for bedding then I change the branches. I know apple and pear trees are ok, Im assuming that Plum would be.

Thanks
Sarah

Hi Sarah, yes plumb tree branches are fine, I've used them and still have some in their aviaries. Also, they like the fruit, all you need to is remove the stones.
