Never seen Chipmunks that expensive - my most expensive white was £60, she was one of my first white Chipmunks and i bought her from Pets at Home in 1997.  That is more than my pedigree cat  :o

Not me, I waited a couple of years till the price came down to £200 a pair. It was worth it for me , I eventually sold hundreds.

Ooooh - I'm looking for a pair of whites but can't get hold of any.  The only 'pairs' I can get are male/female, and I want 2 males/2 females as I don't want to breed  :dontknow:

hi all,

what a shock, £900, glad i didn't keep them then. i guess also the area were you live determines the price, as up here in the north (Lancashire) the most I've seen whites for was about £30 to £40 each. well I'm hoping that they are still that price as to buy a new bunch 4 or 5 will break the bank!!! lol.

OOOooooh - I'd be really grateful if you could keep me posted.  Where are you ? Geography's not my strong point but I'm sure hubby will drive me almost anywhere for a quiet life  :notworthy:

I can promise them an excellent home with loads of treats etc  :icon_bounce:

I agree with Whistler, I remember as a kid living in Rome and stare for what seems hours in the pet shops windows and looking at massive cages with 20 or 30 chipmunks in it and I could not afford to buy them as they were so expensive, probably the equivalent of buying a parrot today; so had to settle with a pair of hamsters.

hi Stefano,

made me laugh when you then got hamsters! I called in to my local pet shop who sell chips, hoping they would have some in. not yet so I'm on the list. but didn't come away empty handed!!! yes you guessed 1 very small but cute hamster, complete with new cage etc. proving to be entertaining. not sure about the poo falling out of the exercise ball!!! but this does get less as she gets older.
Fingers crossed some chips come soon, so sad to see the aviary empty.

Sarah.
