I was going to say i was going to keep Nutkin and Willow now but things are getting really bad between those two. They are fighting well Nutkin is really chasing Willow around and aggressively. These last few days its been really bad. Everytime Nutkin sees Willow she chases her and tries to grab hold of her. Its worse during the day when both are out of the nest boxes as as soon as Willow comes out into the flight area (outside aviary part) Nutkin chases her and Willow really has to run fast to escape and the chase goes on for quite some time before Willow finally loses Nutkin by diving into a corner or something. If Nutkin chases Willow in the sleeping house the fight will continue and Willow runs back out and it all continues until Willow can really quickly find somewhere Nutkin doesn't see her go. Despite everything Willow has done to me i wouldn't want to see her hurt, i'm really worried she might get seriously injured or killed. We know Nutkin is capable of it and this fighting is quite relentless when the two are in the outside aviary area.
Its not fighting over food, they always get new food and they have a store of food, a nest box with lots of nuts and extra food thats been hoarded away. They have separate nest boxes and also have plenty of bedding in both boxes. This really doesn't seem a food issue.
What should i do? Problem is i won't be able to build to the new aviaries until next spring and in the meantime something could happen to Willow if this keeps up. I'm running out of options, don't have anywhere to bring her indoors and only have small cages which in an emergency i could use but are not good long term and my parents are completely fed up of them fighting all the time. I can tell you they aren't popular in this house.
