I read about chipmunks being clean with their toilets habits and since I got my pair I can say is true. I have given them a "bird bath", it's a plastic cube that you hang from the outside of the cage for birds to bath, but I have put it at the bottom of the cage with some wood shavings in it and they go in and use it as a toilet; I change it daily, so brilliant, no mess at the bottom of the cage and most important no smell.
