hi Pitkin  you have to sit  in your aviary and just be  still  if you have walnuts and also dried mealworms they should come to you, they also love millet , monkey nuts and pomegranite, , when i go into my  aviary i just sit on the floor and wait then your girls mum comes over and sniffs at me etc then she goes in  my pockets after food and after about half hour  or so the others come out but if you make sudden moves they scarper and hide, and it starts all over again, :dontknow: but usually they are out most of the day sunbatheing, i am sure they will come to you eventually,it  just takes loads of time and patience, but i am so pleased they have such a loving owners and have a fantastic new home, well done you building that aviary from scratch :notworthy:
ps my glider came to my shoulder last night first time since i got them over 8 weeks ago, that was  quite scary  as he was sniffing around my ears and neck  as he does actually bite(not hard ) but already have pierced ears so dont need them done again
love all animals and have been involved in rescue for 17 years plus,

Hi Jules,
Further progression today, the girls spent most of the morning out, which was nice to see.  A midday nap and then out most of the afternoon.  They are still nervous but they are definetly starting to calm down a little.  Zip our male on the other hand is really confident and seems to love the attention lol, and boy can he dig.  I had to fill the pot up with more soil today as he has scatted it everywhere lol.  Its a fantastic sight to see though and he worked so hard getting to the bottom of the pot.  Whilst he is digging he will let you stroke him.
I have added a bird type table to the aviary today but its in an awkward position and the girls can't get on it, zip the male tried for ages and finally succeeded, he seemed proud as punch and for about 5 mins after succesfully getting up there all he did was sit there wagging his tail lol.

I love the name Zip for the chipmunk you bought from me and glad he settled in, his 2 little brothers still looking for homes are strawberry mad at the moment had a few squashed ones left in the punnet and they adore them!.

Thought my chipmunks were eating the coconut slower Zip must have preferred it to his brothers!.
