New babies!

Checked in on Meg this morning and she has had her babies!
I only had a quick look and there are 5 or 6 babies looking ok. I'll post some pics when I get the chance.

hi im a newbie.my snowflake has had babies possibly 3.im concerned as both the mother and father have been carrying them around in their mouths.i just got home to find that 1 had died and was half eaten.please could you advise me what i should do.i havent checked on the other babies as i didnt want to disturb the nest please help anyone

Hi smurfette1, carrying the babies around is normal. It may be that mother didn't like dad around and felt her litter was in danger. It would be advisable to separate them if that is the case, many females can be very nasty to the male when they have babies. I'm very sorry to hear about the eaten baby    it is very sad i know
My Abigail ate her whole litter, it was a shock and she was on her own so we don't know why she did it 

Definately check on the babies don't worry about disturbing them, normally it isn't a good idea especially if newborn but in this case you need to check they are all ok.

How old are the babies?

they are 3 days old.i'll check them 2morro as it's rather late now .i'll post how it goes.thank you very much

dear jennyb. bad news i'm afraid all 3 are gone.i've cleaned out their cage.snowflake is'nt at all worried and twinkle is the same.should i seperate them .is she likely to get pregnant again.sorry to bother you but i'm new at the baby thing.thanks

I'm so sorry very sad. Yes it is likely she will get pregnant again and i would advice you to separate them if this happens, it may be the male killed them, does happen not all males make good fathers or the female might of done it because she was stressed by the male carrying them around
