Chipmunk Mix
« on: January 11, 2009, 06:07:59 PM »
Hi

I feed my chippies the Burgess Supachipmunk mix and they love it BUT it's getting very expensive where I live considering the amount I feed them - £2.99 a bag.  Now I don't begrudge them a penny of it but I was wondering if anyone made up their own mix.

If so, please could you tell me what you put in it and where you get your ingredients from - ie dried corn, maize etc

Mine get an awful lot more than just the mix and bearing in mind, I'm hopefully getting another pair this year, I want to see if I can make up a feed in bulk.

Thanks  ;D

Well that's all I used to pay but over recent months, it's gone up by 20 or 30p a month.  I contacted Burgess direct and they will not do mail order  ???

What part of the country do you live in then ?

I just had a quick look on fleebay and noticed it's nearly £8 for a 1Kg bag  :o
Or was you meaning the 500g which is about £3.50.

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=burgess+chipmunk+food&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Then just checked on Google and found £1.79 for a 1Kg bag. Not sure on the postage but thats a big difference.

Just checked the add and it's £3.42 postage fr 1Kg

I'm sure my last bag was £2. I did find they was wasting alot of food before, as I used to empty out their dish and refill it everyday. If I left it 2 days they did eventually eat most of the mix and not just their favourite bits.

if you order ten bags the total cost of postage is £7.50 so each bag works out at £2.54 which after taking into account mileage travelled plus parking and inconvenience getting into town (for me)it comes down to about £1.99 per bag.

Hi,

I feed mine the Burgess Supachipmunk mix. I order mine in from my vets as they dont stock it. It costs me £18 for 9 1kg bags and dont have to pay postage as I pick it up from the vets  :icon_cheers:
